Salary : $123,007 - $300,000 per year Downtown San Diego is located on San Diego Bay. Balboa Park encompasses several mesas and canyons to the northeast, surrounded by older, dense urban communities including Hillcrest and North Park. To the east and southeast lie City Heights, the College Area, and Southeast San Diego. To the north lies Mission Valley and Interstate 8. The communities north of the valley and freeway, and south of Marine Corps Air Station Mirmar, include Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, Tierrasanta, and Navajo. Stretching north from Miramar are the northern suburbs of Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Penasquitos, and Ranch Bernado. The far northeast portion of the city encompasses Lake Hodges and the San Pasqual Valley, which holds an agricultural preserve. Carmel Valley and Del Mar Heights occupy the northwest corner of the city. To their south are Torrey Pines State Reserve and the business center of the Golden Triangle. Further south are the beach and coastal communities of La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, and Ocean Beach. Pont Loma occupies the peninsula across San Dego Bay from downtown. The communities of South San Diego (an Enclave), such as San Ysidro and Otay Mesa, are located next to the Mexico-United States border and are physically separated from the rest of the city by the cities of National City and Chula Vista. A narrow strip of land at the bottom of San Diego Bay connects these southern neighborhoods with the rest of the city.

San Diego area has been variously categorized as having either a semi-arid climate or a Mediterranean climate. San Diego's climate is characterized by warm, dry summers and mild winters, with most of the annual precipitation falling between December and March. The city has a mild climate year-round, with an average of 201 days above 70 °F and low rainfall (9-13 inches annually).
Responsibilities Clinical Practice: Primary Care & Sports Medicine: Ambulatory & Primary Care- • Conducts physical exams, documents medical histories, and manages complex, ER-referred follow-up patients.
• Orders/interprets diagnostic studies and prescribes medications, targeted treatments, and dietary care.
• Approves non-formulary drug requests for cooperative care and manages prescription renewals.
Advanced Sports Medicine- • Performs joint/bursae/tendon injections, arthrocentesis, percutaneous needle tenotomy, and radio-frequency nerve ablation.
• Conducts ultrasound evaluations, ultrasound-guided injections, compartment testing, and extra-corporeal shock wave therapy.
• Manages simple closed fractures (including local hematoma blocks) and prescribes orthotics, prosthetics, and Physical Therapy protocols
Collaborative Care & Oversight- • Directs rehabilitation protocols in collaboration with athletic trainers, orthopedics, and sub-specialists.
• Supervises and co-signs clinical notes for Certified Athletic Trainers (ATs).
• Refers patients to external specialty clinics when care requirements exceed the localized scope.
Compliance & Patient Education- • Maintains electronic health records in strict compliance with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and command policies.
• Promotes preventive medicine, self-care, and positive health behaviors through structured patient counseling.
• Translates local and agency-level policies to resolve complex clinical and operational issues.
Qualifications US Citizenship required
Basic Requirement for Physician (Primary Care ): Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
Licensure : Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Residency Training for GP-14 Position: Applicants must possess 4 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training. Experience may not be substituted for residency training that is required for the specialty identified.
