Prep Cook PositionThis position will perform various food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in producing and delivering dishes for patrons. The prep cook will provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets, in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications.Working at Tamarack is an incredibly rewarding and magical experience. We celebrate and respect our diverse team members and guests.Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The FollowingCompleting all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Chef or other kitchen managerLabeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelvesWashing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meatsMeasuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredientsParboiling food, reducing sauces and starting first steps in various dishesCleaning various areas of the kitchen, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchenAdhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standardsKeeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupplyProvide excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners. Maintain a working knowledge of the Resorts rules and enforce them accordingly.Keep facility clean and free of hazards, debris, and trash. This aspect of the job often includes other custodial duties.Must adhere to all board of health food handling regulations.Qualifications/RequirementsA minimum of 6 months of cooking experience is required.Should have any required certification to handle food.Excellent customer service focus and communication skills.Should be able to read, speak, and write in English.Must have precise knife skills including some butchering skills with fish and steaks.Must understand how to measure temperatures for meat, fish and steaks and be able to produce a properly cooked product, always, especially during very busy peak periods.Must be familiar with prep kitchen and be able to read and follow recipes, including baked items.Must be able follow directions, both verbal and written and ask appropriate questions with necessary.High school diploma or equivalent.Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
